Where to watch Interview with the Vampire

If the lineup of today's prestige TV landscape is a little stale then maybe it's time for some fresh blood. Let me introduce you to one of 2022's sleeper hits Interview with the Vampire. The series is like nothing else out there, blending gothic horror, historical romance and one very unreliable narrator.

Interview with the Vampire had already won over critics and now it's picking up a new wave of fans following a recent partnership between Max and AMC. If you've heard the hype but don't know where to find and stream the series in Australia, here's what you need to know.

In Australia, the first season of Interview with the Vampire is available to stream via both ABC iView and AMC Plus.

While iView is the cheaper option, this service caps out at 720p for its streams. If you want to experience the gothic glamour and bloody mayhem that the series has to offer, you'll probably want to signup for AMC Plus either directly or via Amazon Channels. 

What are Amazon Prime Channels, I hear you ask? Prime Video Channels are an optional add-on for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service. These channels allow you to bundle additional content from other streaming services, including AMC Plus, into your Amazon Prime Video subscription. You aren't paying a cent more than you would going direct, but you are dealing with one less app.

The first season of Interview with the Vampire aired back in 2022. The follow-up isn't expected until early-to-mid 2024. However, that timeline isn't fixed and could easily end up shifting as a result of the ongoing strike activity within Hollywood.

If the name sounds familiar, that's because this incarnation of Interview with the Vampire is based on the same Anne Rice novel that inspired the 1994 film. That version of the story told here starred Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Kirsten Dunst.

This TV adaptation of Rice's novel updates the material to a new post-pandemic modern-day setting and trades out old-school star power for a more diverse ensemble that includes Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian and Bailey Bass.

The premise of Interview with the Vampire is deceptively simple. An aging journalist (Eric Bogosian) agrees to meet with an aging vampire (Jacob Anderson) to help him tell his side of the story. The problem? The pair already have history and the past is rarely as straightforward as it seems. A few decades after their first attempt, the two old friends attempt to set the record straight but it isn't long before tempers flare and unexpected revelations change the relationship between them.

AMC Plus comes with all the content you’d get from subscribing to Shudder and AcornTV, plus a bunch of additional content produced by the American entertainment company. This includes popular series like The Ride with Norman Reedus, Kin and Firebyte. In total, you're looking at 467 movies and 277 TV shows.
