Arguably tastier than Korean fried chicken, here's how to get your taste of Korean drama in Australia.
Where to watch K-Drama (Korean drama) in Australia

Korean drama (or K-Drama for shortsies) is popular around the globe, and with good reason. Whether you're hunting quality movies or addictive TV series, there's a good chance you'll find a K-Drama thing you'll love. There are movie classics like Parasite, the original (and best) Oldboy, and Train to Busan. Or there are binge-worthy K-Drama TV shows like Squid Game, Good Boy, or When Life Gives You Tangerines.
While there's at least one way to access a wealth of Korean drama via an international streamer, the good news is you may already have access to some quality K-Drama with the right Australian streaming service.
How to watch K-Drama in Australia
Depending on what you want to watch, there's a great range of Korean drama movies and TV shows on three of the biggest Australian streaming services. Netflix is the best place to start with around 100 Korean movies and TV shows to pick from. In terms of popular picks, Netflix is home to zeitgeist show Squid Game, Academy Award-winning Parasite (also on Stan), romance Past Lives, and heart-pounding zombie flick Train to Busan.
For more Korean drama zombies, try All of Us Are Dead on Netflix. If that's not enough post-apocalypse for you, try the misleadingly titled Happiness. Or for a lighter intertwining of American and Korean drama, there's XO, Kitty. And for something more recent, Netflix nabbed streaming rights for KPop Demon Hunters.
Disney Plus has its own dedicated 'Made in Korea' selection of K-drama titles. Choose from dozens of options, including Korean movies and TV shows, spread primarily across romance and drama. For romance, try Call it Love. To get your heart racing another way, there are horrors like Revenant or thrillers like Moving, and Big Mouth.
Other places to stream K-Drama in Australia
There's more K-Drama to be found on other streaming services. If you have an Apple TV Plus subscription, you can access a small selection of Korean drama options. In terms of K-drama shows, Apple TV Plus has Pachinko, Dr. Brain, and K-Pop Idols. If you fancy a film, The Last of the Sea Women is a documentary about South Korean divers.
For other K-Drama options, consider checking out Viki, which is a dedicated streaming service for Asian movies and TV shows. There's a Korean category, which includes Viki Originals, including Korean movies and series. There is even a good selection of free-to-stream movies and select TV episodes.
If you have a Prime Video subscription, there's a small selection of K-Drama shows and movies. For high-rated options, check out The Kidnapping Day, Death's Game, Marry My Husband, May I Help You, Anna, and My Man is Cupid. Shudder is home to a selection of Korean horror films, including the brutal revenge thrillers I Saw the Devil, and Oldboy (2013).

What is K-drama?
While it has "drama" in the name, K-Drama is a loose term for any movie or TV series that originates from South Korea. Effectively, not everything under the K-Drama umbrella is drama, so you may find some Korean movies or shows that are comedies or horrors. Rest assured that South Korea has an excellent reputation for quality content; just check out any of the options flagged above for a taste.
What else is streaming on Netflix?
Netflix is home to a lot of quality content, including popular licensed TV shows and movies, as well as some great Netflix Originals. At the time of writing, Squid Game was the most popular show on Netflix (how appropriate for this article) alongside Untamed, Ginny & Georgia, plus The Rookie. For movies, Netflix recently added The Old Guard 2 and KPop Demon Hunters.
