Verizon Fios offers fast, symmetrical speeds on its fiber internet plans from 300Mbps up to 2Gbps for $49.99 to $109.00 per month. All Fios plans include a router and price guarantee up to five years, so your monthly plan price remains the same until the guarantee ends. There aren’t lots of extra fees every month, but to kick things off, you need to pay for a $99 professional installation (waived for gigabit plans). There is also a credit check, which determines whether you need to pay a security deposit, up to $250, or not.
The Verizon 5G Home Internet offers plans from $50 to $75 per month. Speeds vary depending on your area, so you might be offered a speed range from 100Mbps to 300Mbps, or a range from 300Mbps to 1,000Mbps. Verizon 5G Home Internet plans include a router in the price and can be self-installed for free. Like Fios, the 5G Home plans require a credit check, which may put you on the hook for a security deposit up to $400.

Both Verizon Fios and Verizon 5G Home Internet customers are offered excellent internet deals, such as a router included with their plan and a $10 monthly discount when you sign up for AutoPay and paper-free billing. You may also experience deprioritization behind other 5G users on Verizon’s cell towers, especially when there’s a high demand for the service.

Verizon 5G Home Internet doesn’t get the fastest speeds, but customers find that the service works well. “It’s a consistent product,” says Clare Messink, a Verizon 5G customer in Salt Lake City, Utah. “I sort of feel like, ‘Man, this should be $25 a month,” she says. Although the price seems somewhat high for what it is, it doesn’t break the bank. “It was an affordable option, and I've had zero problems with it.”
