I interviewed six people all over the U.S., and the affordable prices seem to outweigh some installation and outage issues.
T-Mobile Fiber Internet Review: Customers Call It “Amazing”

T-Mobile Fiber is a powerful up-and-coming fiber internet provider, especially following its recent acquisition of Metronet Fiber Internet in July 2025. This means that all Metronet Fiber customers are on track to become T-Mobile Fiber customers, allowing T-Mobile to control fiber between 12 to 15 million homes.
With speeds up to 2,000Mbps, a wireless discount that could get your fiber plan as low as $20 per month, and five to ten-year price guarantees, there’s a reason that all of the customers I spoke to are extremely happy with their fiber service. One customer in Colorado told me, “it’s been amazing” … emphasizing “amazing” twice.
T-Mobile Fiber’s prices and speeds are evenly matched with other big fiber providers like AT&T and Verizon (and it’s actually much more affordable than the reigning fiber champ, Google Fiber). With multi-gigabit symmetrical speeds and extremely infrequent outages, this fiber provider is making serious magenta waves across the U.S.
Read on to learn what T-Mobile Fiber offers, and what real customers have to say about their fiber experience so far.
Spoiler alert: It’s really, really positive.

Our breakdown of T-Mobile Fiber features
For all our internet reviews, we give a rating based on three main criteria—speed and reliability, dollar value, and customer experience—which we then average to make an overall score.

5/5
To be clear, T-Mobile Fiber Internet is neither 5G, cable, nor DSL internet. Fiber is the newest internet technology that relies on fiber-optic cables to deliver ultra-fast symmetrical speeds. What this really means: You’re probably never going to ask, Why is my internet so slow today?
T-Mobile Fiber currently offers four plans with speeds ranging from 300Mbps to 2,000Mbps. While you can find T-Mobile 5G Home Internet in all 50 states, T-Mobile Fiber is currently only available in 24 states (according to T-Mobile’s official site)—a number that is continually increasing.
But when it comes to outages, is T-Mobile Fiber as consistent as fiber is hyped to be?
I spoke to a T-Mobile Fiber customer in St. Petersburg, Florida, who told me he works 60 hours a week remotely. Since becoming a fiber customer a few months ago, he has had zero outages.
In Bloomington, Minnesota, Roberto Torres pays for the 1 Gig fiber plan and has about 15 connected devices. He tells me, “I like that I have connection in my garage!” He shared that one recent outage only required him to reset the router, and everything was back to smooth sailing right after.
However, I did find one Reddit user from South Carolina who kindly chatted with me about how he signed up for the T-Mobile Fiber 2 Gig plan, but was only getting 900Mbps. It turns out that the original technician who installed it damaged the fiber optic cable on top of discovering his modem supported only up to 1,000Mbps. A second technician was able to fix things. Since T-Mobile Fiber is still relatively new, installation issues like this may happen every now and then, and I think this is forgivable as long as it’s not often. Only time will tell.
4.8/5
T-Mobile Fiber prices range from $40 to $90 per month with AutoPay. This is about the same range of prices as other big fiber providers like AT&T Fiber and Verizon Fios. However, T-Mobile Fiber is far more affordable than Google Fiber, which starts at $70 for 1,000Mbps and goes up to $150 per month. T-Mobile doesn’t lock you into an annual contract and even includes a five-year price guarantee.
You can even knock $20 off those prices every month if you’re a T-Mobile postpaid customer (and sign up for AutoPay), giving T-Mobile an edge over more established fiber providers. The Fiber 1 Gig plan becomes $65 (instead of $85), and the Fiber 2 Gig plan becomes $85 (instead of $105). You can’t do this with Google Fiber.
And don’t expect any hidden fees. None of the T-Mobile Fiber customers I spoke to mentioned any grief—quite the opposite. A customer in Pueblo, Colorado, who switched from Comcast went from paying $160 for 1 Gig to $70 per month for 2 Gig. However, keep in mind that the price could vary by availability.
T-Mobile’s Fiber Founders Club offers 2 Gig speeds for $70 and a 10-year price lock
On top of extremely transparent pricing, some T-Mobile customers may even have access to an exclusive and limited-time promo plan called Fiber Founders Club 2 Gig.
Normally, this plan is $105 per month, but with the Fiber Founders Club, you get that same massive speed for $70 per month. That’s like paying the same amount for Google Fiber’s 1 Gig plan but getting double the speed. A customer in Greensboro, North Carolina, snagged this offer and told me they like the service, stating, “...it’s overkill but I want to lock in the low rate.”
I spoke directly with T-Mobile Chief Broadband Officer, Allan Samson, who confirmed that eligible customers in select expansion areas can lock in 2 Gig speeds for just $70 per month for 10 years. This limited-time "Fiber Founders Club" promo offers double the speed of Google Fiber’s entry-level plan for the same price.
4.3/5
Customers who spoke to Reviews.org gave overall glowing reviews about T-Mobile Fiber Internet. When I asked Roberto Torres in Bloomington, Minnesota, if he likes the T-Mobile customer service, he said yes and “don’t really deal with them other than signing up.” The six people I spoke to echoed this sentiment.
While T-Mobile Fiber is fairly new and still figuring out how best to support customers, here are the two ways you can get in touch with a rep:
- Call 1-833-421-4343
- Chat with a fiber rep at Fiber.T-Mobile.com
Overall quality: 4.7/5
Signing up for T-Mobile Fiber is one of the best fiber internet services you can get. Users get a fast and reliable fiber connection with up to 2,000Mbps download speeds, a five to 10-year price guarantee, and a $20 monthly discount when you connect a T-Mobile wireless plan and activate AutoPay on your fiber plan.
As for any negatives, aside from its overall limited availability, reaching customer service via the phone or the online chat seems like a headache. It’s a good thing that most customers don’t need to reach out often. It seems with T-Mobile Fiber, you get peace of mind that you’ll hardly have to interact with customer service. That’s worth its weight in gold.

T-Mobile Fiber vs. the competition
T-Mobile Fiber is extremely limited for now. However, there are still decent internet alternatives that are likely available to you.
Xfinity is available in 39 states and delivers cable internet speeds from 300Mbps to 2,000Mbps for $40 to $100 per month—but it does come with significant built-in price hikes. AT&T Fiber is a great alternative to T-Mobile Fiber and comes with no contracts, no data caps, and free equipment rental. You can also save 20% when you bundle with an AT&T wireless plan. Google Fiber is extremely limited, but wins best overall internet awards right and left. It’s just a flat $70 monthly fee, and it’s worth trying if it’s available to you.

What we learned from real customers
Is T-Mobile Fiber too good to be true? According to the customers I spoke to in Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, South Carolina, and North Carolina, things are looking bright for T-Mobile Fiber. I had to really dig around to find anything negative to balance out the overwhelming positives. And even if people shared some gripes, the T-Mobile Fiber customers I spoke to were overall pleased.
Here’s what T-Mobile customers shared with me in a nutshell:
- T-Mobile is fast and even works really well from inside the garage
- Extremely infrequent outages that are solved either by resetting the router or resolve themselves
- Great way to lock in a low price for five to ten years
- A better experience than Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T Fiber, and even Google Fiber
- Gigabit speeds could be overkill
- Power outage situation required full replacement
Is T-Mobile Fiber better than AT&T Fiber?
A T-Mobile Fiber customer in Greensboro, North Carolina explained how they left AT&T Fiber to go to T-Mobile Fiber. This came as a shock to me as I’ve heard only the best things about AT&T Fiber. This customer explained that they got AT&T Fiber during COVID because the price was good, but then the price started going up without notice, as well as sudden equipment charges.
They switched to T-Mobile Fiber and “so far so good.” They said it was hard to pay $100 per month for AT&T Fiber when they were initially paying $65 for the same service and equipment. In contrast, “T-Mobile is charging me $70 for the next 10 years.”
Is T-Mobile Fiber better than Google Fiber?
According to a chatty Reddit user in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, yes. This person stated they were currently on Google Fiber but were curious about trying out T-Mobile Fiber. After switching, they weren’t quite happy with the upload speeds, but after two months, they’re happy they stuck it out with T-Mobile Fiber. They share, “With discounts … I am saving about $35 per month and a $300 gift card is a bonus.” Can’t argue with that. Google Fiber is great, but it definitely doesn’t give away virtual cash cards for new customers.

Are power outages an issue with T-Mobile Fiber?
Even with the occasional outage, T-Mobile Fiber has proven reliable enough to keep customers satisfied with the overall cost. Taylor Tedesco in St. Petersburg, Florida shared how he has had T-Mobile Fiber for seven months, but had a quick power outage within the first two months that made the box stop working. Somebody had to come out and replace it even though the outlet, surge protector, and everything else was just fine. Since then, outages have happened a few times but “definitely not repetitive issues.” Even though he’s nervous about hurricane season, Taylor shares what everyone else has been saying about T-Mobile Fiber: “I’m happy with it, and the cost is great.”
Our review process for T-Mobile Fiber was built on proprietary data analysis, first-hand customer interviews, and direct verification of technical specs with industry leadership. To ensure our 4.7/5 rating is accurate, we evaluated the service through the following factors:
- Direct customer interviews: We conducted in-depth, one-on-one interviews with six T-Mobile Fiber customers in five different states (CO, FL, MN, SC, NC). These interviews allowed us to verify real-world speed performance in diverse environments, from high-density urban apartments to suburban homes with 15+ connected devices.
- Expert verification: We spoke directly with T-Mobile’s Chief Broadband Officer, Allan Samson, to confirm the technical roadmap for the 2026 expansion and the specific long-term availability of the "Fiber Founders Club" 10-year price guarantee.
- The "fine print" audit: We combed through T-Mobile’s service contracts and recent acquisition filings (including the July 2025 Metronet deal) to hunt for hidden installation fees, data caps, or equipment charges that aren't mentioned in the primary marketing materials.
- Competitive benchmarking: We used our proprietary internet service reviews to compare T-Mobile’s price-to-speed ratio against established fiber giants like AT&T Fiber and Google Fiber, accounting for the unique "T-Mobile Wireless" bundle discounts.
- Installation & reliability tracking: We tracked "outage history" through user testimonials and forum data (like Reddit) to identify common pain points, such as the initial 2 Gig installation issues found in select expansion markets.
