Breakdown of the best Xfinity Mobile plans
Best plan for light users | $20.00/mo.
- High-speed data: 1GB
- 5G access: Yes (5G and Ultra Wideband)
- Hotspot data: Included in 1GB high-speed data
- Talk and text: Unlimited
This 1GB plan is much like a pay-as-you-go plan for single and multiple lines (you will share the 1GB on multiple lines and it counts towards your hotspot usage). You can add up to ten extra lines without paying for additional lines, but you do pay for the data that you use. Xfinity will charge you an extra $20 for every extra 1GB you use, so this plan is best for customers who use very minimal amounts of data—like a child or even a senior who doesn’t rely on their phone’s internet.
Best basic plan | $40.00/mo.
- High-speed data: 30GB
- 5G access: Yes (5G and Ultra Wideband)
- Hotspot data: Unlimited at 3GB speeds
- Talk and text: Unlimited
The Xfinity Unlimited plan offers less than the Premium Unlimited plan, but it’s anything but basic. You get 30GB of high-speed data, unlimited hotspot data (but at reduced speeds of 3GB), and unlimited talk and text from the United States to Canada and Mexico (and 5GB of data to use in these areas). While you can only stream movies in SD, you still get something called WiFi Powerboost, which increases your data speeds up to 1 Gig whenever you’re connected to your Xfinity Internet at home or to an Xfinity hotspot on the go. In comparison, 30GB of high-speed data on a Verizon Unlimited plan is $80 per line—Xfinity Mobile will only charge you $40 per month to use Verizon’s network. That’s significant.
Xfinity has an ongoing deal for its Xfinity Internet customers to get this plan for free for the first 12 months. A free plan with access to the Verizon network and 30GB of high-speed data? This is quite a steal and deal if I ever saw one.
Best high-speed data plan | $50.00/mo.
- High-speed data: Unlimited high-speed data
- 5G access: Yes
- Hotspot data: 30GB data
- Talk and text: Unlimited
This is Xfinity’s top-tier plan and it is perfect for someone who heavily relies on their data and hotspot. Xfinity won’t slow you down on this plan (no matter how much data you use). Even your hotspot data allotment goes up to 30GB—a huge quantity—and you can access millions of public Xfinity hotspots when you’re out and about. The Unlimited Premium plan offers extra perks like 4K video streaming, Xfinity Call Guard (to protect from spam), and the ability to upgrade your phone two times a year.
The plan starts at $50 per month, much cheaper than a single line of Verizon’s most expensive plan. And for only an extra $30 for additional lines, you can add multiple family members onto this plan and literally never worry about running out of data. Right now, take advantage of the promotion where you can get this Premium Unlimited plan for only $10 per line per month for 12 months. On top of that, you can get the newest iPhone 17 (or another incredible Apple or Android phone) when you trade in an eligible device.
Of note, only the Xfinity Premium Unlimited plan gets the same priority as Verizon postpaid plans, meaning your data will not get deprioritized during periods of typical network congestion.
Xfinity family plans
Let’s look at some examples of how you can piece together your Xfinity Mobile family plan—the prices in the table below don’t factor in current promotional pricing since that can change in the future.
Total of four lines: $150.00/mo. (not including taxes, fees, and activation fees)
Total of four lines: $130.00/mo. (not including taxes, fees, and activation fees)
How much phone data do I actually need?
We recommend getting at least 10GB
The Xfinity Unlimited plan is an excellent choice for anyone who is a heavy data user (you get 30GB of high-speed data), but doesn’t need to rely on hotspots often and doesn’t care for premium perks like upgrading their phone twice a year. While there’s only a $10/mo. difference between this plan and the Premium Unlimited plan, the standard Unlimited plan is worth it because it is currently free for the first 12 months.
Here’s how to get the best Xfinity Mobile plan deals
Use the following tips to get the best deal for your Xfinity plan:
To get access to Xfinity Mobile, you must first pay for an Xfinity Internet plan with 300Mbps speeds or faster. Or you have to be a NOW Internet customer, Xfinity’s prepaid internet service.
The current promo pricing for the Unlimited plan is no payment for 12 months. For the Premium Unlimited plan, you only pay $10 per month for 12 months. This gives you huge savings from $480 to $600 over the course of one year.
Additional lines on the Unlimited and Premium Unlimited plans are cheaper than the single-line starting price. Take advantage of mix and match options with these additional options as you don’t have to choose one plan for everyone with an Xfinity Mobile family plan.
