What’s the Cheapest Xfinity Internet Plan?
Are you shopping around for the cheapest Comcast Xfinity plan you can find? It might be easy to pinpoint which internet package has the lowest cost per month, but finding the best bang for your buck? That’s another story.
Xfinity internet prices depend on where you live, but if you dig deep enough, you’ll find some high-value plans. So we dug into the pricing, internet download speeds, and number of channels for Xfinity internet plans available across the US. Check out what we found.
Cheapest Xfinity plan: Northeastern US
For those looking to pay the lowest price without worrying about what download speed they get, the Xfinity Performance Pro Plus plan is the cheapest.
Here’s a look at the promotional prices Xfinity charges if you live in the Northeastern US.
Plan | Price | Download speed | Details |
Performance Pro Plus | $39.99* | 200 Mbps | View Plan |
Performance Starter Plus | $49.95† | 25 Mbps | View Plans |

Gigabit | $79.99^ | 1200 Mbps | View Plan |
At just under $40.00 a month, the Performance Pro Plus plan offers 200 Mbps download speeds. That’s an exceptional deal, and those speeds are perfect for keeping even a larger family connected while everyone streams Netflix or games on the Xbox.
Just be aware that, after one year, your monthly price jumps up to $92.95. (And that cost could change in the meantime.)

If you start breaking down the cost per Mbps, you’ll quickly find that Xfinity’s slowest plan in the Northeast, Performance Starter Plus, is the most expensive. But the catch is this plan’s price doesn’t go up after a certain amount of time, and it doesn’t require a contract either.
Plan | Price/Mbps |
Gigabit | $0.07/Mbps |
Extreme Pro Plus | $0.12/Mbps |
Performance Pro Plus | $0.20/Mbps |
Performance Select | $0.78/Mbps |
Performance Starter Plus | $2.00/Mbps |

Our recommended cheap Xfinity internet plan: Performance Pro Plus
The promotional price Xfinity’s charging for its 200 Mbps plan is just too good to pass up. And those download speeds should cover you even if you run a home office while your kiddos or partner enjoy some game time or stream Paw Patrol.
If you want to avoid the price hike after a year, we advise calling Xfinity just before your second year is up to see if the representative can offer you any new deals.

Cheapest Xfinity plan: Central US
Xfinity’s Performance Starter is clearly the cheapest option if you just want to pay the lowest price and don’t care for that much internet speed.
Here’s a list of the promotional prices you can expect for Xfinity internet packages.
Plan | Price | Download speed | Details |
Performance Starter | $20° | 25 Mbps | View Plan |
Performance Select | $35° | 100 Mbps | View Plans |
Performance Pro Plus | $50° | 200 Mbps | View Plan |
Blast! | $50° | 400 Mbps | View Plans |
Extreme Pro | $60** | 600 Mbps | View Plans |
Gigabit | $70** | 1000 Mbps | View Plan |
However, we’ll caution you that the Performance Starter’s 25 Mbps download speeds probably won’t cut it if you have more than just yourself hopping online to check Facebook. The more people and devices that use your internet, the more download speed you need.

The Gigabit plan, on the other hand, offers the most value on a cost-per-Mbps basis. And its 1,000 Mbps speeds can keep a large family connected, plus keep your home security system, smart home hubs, and other devices online too.
But keep in mind that the Gigabit plan requires a two-year contract, and it’s the most costly plan out of all those Xfinity offers in the Central US. If you don’t need that much download speed, you might be better off grabbing a slower plan at a lower monthly cost.

Just be aware that your monthly price goes up after a year—and Xfinity’s not clear on what your new cost might be. But we’d put money on a higher cost.
