We dug into the pricing, internet download speeds, and number of channels for Xfinity internet plans and bundles available across the US. Check out what we found.

For those looking to pay the lowest price without worrying about what download speed they get, the Xfinity Performance Starter plan is the cheapest.

At just under $50 a month, the Performance Starter plan offers 25 Mbps download speeds. That’s fast enough for one person to stream Hulu, game, and do some work from home.

But if you’ve got family or roommates that use your internet too, paying more for faster speeds is worth it.

And if you start breaking down the cost per Mbps, you’ll quickly find that Performance Starter is one of the most expensive Xfinity plans.

Instead, the Gigabit plan rings in at just under 10 cents per Mbps—and with 1,000 Mbps download speeds, you won’t need more speed to keep up with your whole family’s streaming habits. (We suggest the Blast! plan as a high-value alternative if you don’t like the price of the Gigabit plan.)

Cheapest Xfinity bundle: Northeastern US

It’s a little harder to compare bundle prices because Xfinity isn’t clear on how the price breaks down between your internet speed and the number of channels you get. But if you enjoy your Xfinity internet with a side of cable TV, then an Xfinity bundle will likely save you some cash.

Here’s what bundle prices look like in the Northeast:

Xfinity’s Performance Starter is clearly the cheapest option if you just want to pay the lowest price and don’t care for that much internet speed.

However, we’ll caution you that the Performance Starter’s 25 Mbps download speeds probably won’t cut it if you have more than just yourself hopping online to check Facebook. The more people and devices that use your internet, the more download speed you need.

Take a look at the cost per Mbps, though, and you’ll see that the Gigabit plan actually offers the most value.

That’s . . . not a lot. But if you’re not worried about internet speed and don’t channel surf often, that low price each month might win you over. Holding out for faster download speeds and more channels? You might try the X1 HD Premier Triple Play with Extreme Pro Internet with 600 Mbps download speeds and 200+ channels instead.

Xfinity’s Performance Starter plan is the cheapest option when you look at how much you’d pay per month. It comes with 25 Mbps download speeds, which is fast enough to keep one person comfortably streaming and gaming to their heart’s content.

But for about $5 more per month, the Performance Select plan gives you 100 Mbps—that’s enough speed to support a small- to medium-sized family. And it’s not a bad deal at all.

When you look at each plan’s cost per Mbps, the Performance Starter plan stacks up as the most expensive. On the other hand, the rest of Xfinity’s internet plans for the West cost you less than 50 cents per Mbps. Now that’s some real value.

The best value of them all is the Gigabit plan, which costs you less than 10 cents per Mbps.

Of course, if you’d rather not see your monthly bill creep that close to $100 a month, both the Performance Select and Performance Pro Plus plans ring in under $50 a month and come with a low cost per Mbps. And both come with decent download speeds too.

The Choice TV Select Double Play has the cheapest cost per month by a longshot. We like that it comes with 100 Mbps internet speeds too—that’s enough for three to four people to stream Space Force on Netflix while keeping a bunch of other devices connected.

The only downside is it comes with just 10+ channels. That’s not a lot if you want to pair your streaming experience with cable TV.

So if you need speedier internet and more channels to flip through, check out the Preferred Pro Plus Double Play. It comes with 600 Mbps download speeds and 220+ channels. That’s more than enough internet speed to keep even a larger family with a full home security system, several connected devices, and kids who love to stream happily online.
